Licensed Therapeutic Massage

My name is Amy Kammerer, B.S., LMT 13688.

Can I help you? Yes. My work can ease pain, improve flexibility, relieve constipation, induce sleep, increase sexual vitality & increase mental clarity. Most patients report marked results after the first 1 hr treatment. I call every patient within 48 hrs of each treatment to check in. Treatments can be as brief as 15 min or up to 2 hrs. In 15 min, muscle knots dissolve. The most effective treatments occur in conjunction w/ acupuncture. A guided visualization session, provided here at our Tualatin location, prior to your treatment may deepen your experience.

    My Bio:

I graduated from Hofstra University, the Oregon School of Massage, the Rolf Institute & continue my studies w/ the Oregon Orthopedic Physical Therapy Study Group & the American College of Sports Medicine. I have over 1200 hrs of bodywork studies. Oregon State requires 500 hrs. Licensed Massage Therapists in Oregon are trained in Anatomy & Physiology, Pathology, Hydrotherapy, Kinesiology, Clinical Supervision, Business Practice & Ethics prior to training in the massage modality of their choice.

My massage modality choices include Asian massage & posture/strength work. This includes body, mind and spiritual integration.

I am a Nationally Certified Therapist thru NCBTMB, which requires an exam that incompasses all the above topics as well as basic Eastern Medicine. I am also certified w/ ABMP which provides additional training in patient communication.

    Services Offered:

Your choices of massage include: Asian/Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Swedish Long Flow, Cancer Support, Kinesiotaping (as seen on Olympians) & Energy Healing.

Sessions last between 15 min to 2 hrs. In a 15 min targeted session, muscle knots will melt to butter as your body is guided into a position of ease. All sessions include a follow up phone call & optional muscle toning/postural guidance. While I can turn knots into butter, only you can keep knots away. How? By keeping your tissue healthy. We train you how to do that & support your progress.

The session is your time. I will respond to your questions & ask for feedback. Anything you share in a session is confidential.

The Asian work dovetails beautifully w/ our acupuncture treatment. You wear loose clothing as your body is placed into gentle, rhythmic movement & stretches. The work progresses along your body's meridians. Some points may be sensitive, although none should cause pain. Relaxed breathing is practiced.

Swedish flow work is received while undressed. It involves very gentle, long, head to toe strokes, rocking & cradling. You may lie on your side, on your front or your back. A long towel is placed along the center of your body for modesty. This style of massage originated with the Humanist movement in Big Sur, California. It is unique for its oceanic flow which integrates body & mind.

Kinesiotaping is used extensively by athletes. Invented in Japan, it is unique for its ability to retrain muscle & drain swelling. Post massage, it's used to activate or release muscles & thus continue the effects of the massage. Have your injuries resulted in bruising or swelling? Kinesiotape diminishes both remarkably.

In addition to massage, you will recieve lifestyle support. We offer self care classes in Qi Gong, Dao Yin Self Massage, Stretching & Natural Skin Care. Our clinic has a successful weight loss/detox program & Chinese herbal medicine, as well.
